About Us

At Thrive Coventry we’re funding initiatives and awarding grants to serve the people who need them most. We believe in taking action with urgency in order to raise public awareness about some of the most pressing issues facing today’s society. Over the past 40 years we have provided thousands of children and families an opportunity to grow. In the current decade, the needs of our beneficiaries are changing, and so are we to match them.  Please read on to read about our journey so far and look at where we are going.

Our Past

The Rivet Group Trust was founded in 1976 by a small group of Coventry businessmen to provide facilities for recreation and other leisure time activities for children and young people who lived in or near the city. In the 1990s, the focus changed to providing holidays for families who might otherwise not be able to enjoy time together, and to this end the charity owned two caravans at Barmouth on the Welsh coast, where families could enjoy being close to the beach and the mountains of Snowdonia. Times have changed and the needs of our beneficiaries have also changed.

The Present

The caravan holidays came to an end after about ten years and the focus changed to funding individual holidays and leisure activities. In 2021 the charity underwent a name change, and a major review of how it goes about providing those facilities for recreation and leisure time activities, and is now known as Thrive Coventry. Looking to the Future

Our mission is to empower young individuals in the Coventry area and help them to thrive via opportunities they would otherwise not have. With mental and physical health issues on the rise, it is imperative that people are able to be empowered by their own abilities and gain the confidence to fulfill their potential. Click below to learn about how we are trying to make this happen.
